Hanna Navon was born in
Jerusalem, Israel in 1951. She started drawing at age 18, she began painting in oils but never received any formal art training.
Throughout her 20s and 30s she generated a unique body of work that even early on combined mystery, stylistic imagery, and spirituality executed with a sure hand and a provocative use of color.
Around 2000 she was diagnosed with MS and eventually was unable to continue painting. In time Navon discovered the potential of digital art to realize her visions, becoming expert at developing an aura or an energy which would have been impossible to achieve using any other medium.
Throughout her life, Navon wrote poetry and, While working on digital art, she began incorporating her poems into her paintings.
Hanna Navon resides in Jerusalem today, and while unable to achieve the level of creative activity she would otherwise generate, she continues to capture and convey the haunting beauty of her world.
